Paint itself is a living medium-it is a perfect vehicle to explore spiritual ideas of understanding and transcendence. My method is a combination of intuitive expressions of my spiritual path, and a divinely inspired technical method that stems from different sources: The Spiritual awakening from Meher Baba, the divine geometries of the Golden Mean, the Symbolism and the mysticism of alchemy.
I approach the painting process in a nonlinear way- through intuition. It can be verbal, or as an impression, it comes from the heart.
Challenging myself with subjects for which I have no intellectual knowledge, forces me to rely on intuition or "Intuitive Knowledge." I begin a painting, as a "Whim," which allowed me to begin my journey into the unknown and find infinity. That infinity is God, the real self. In my life experiences, as with painting, I know that I do not know. This acceptance of my own ignorance opens the door to the path of Knowledge. This is the innate knowledge we all have from the Beginning, which only needs to be revealed
Within the passages of The Nothing and The Everything by Bhau Kalchuri (a close Baba disciple) I found my process of painting. These teachings also led me to a higher understanding of consciousness. This double spiral or the double helix is an ancient symbol that depicts the duel opposing forces of the evolution of life revolving around the involution of consciousness. My realization was based on this: In the beginning was light and the light expressed itself through seven revolving colors of the rainbow. If creation itself took place that way any creation can evolves also the same way.
I use the Golden mean to render a natural harmony of the space and a strong structure. Pigments of pure color are mix based on recipe of an Old Master's technique developed by the 15th century Flemish painter Jan Van Eyck. These color are applied in fourteen layers, the seven colors of the rainbow in succession and then back through the array to complete the process in seven more layers. There is a natural harmony contained within the process itself resulting in deep vibrancy and transparency, which could not have been created any other way.
Through this process, I tap into a dormant knowledge within myself. I sit in front of the unknown, willing to face Eternity. The longing for God makes me paint. I paint what I do not know, which leads me into a higher realm of the soul and to the discovery of infinity. My thoughts and intuition are then expressed into being and are realized in a work of art - thus I pursue my path.
